Thank you for your coming to our screenings “What’s happening in Tibet”.
Tibet, a forgotten land has been serious collapse of civilization and
human rights violation. After protests by Buddhist monks began on 10 March,
people in the world have finally started to look at the Tibetan issues.
Issues in Tibet are not only internal affairs in the People’s Republic
of China, but also global issues threatening human life and culture. Today,
many people in the world want to know what is happening in Tibet and what
can be done about Tibet. Therefore, we held the screenings “What’s happening
in Tibet”. Hundreds of people came. Thank you!
深刻な人権蹂躙と文明破壊が進むチベットは、国際社会の中で置き去りにされてきました。しかし、今年3月10日、チベットで僧侶や市民が抗議活動を起こした結果、ようやく世界がチベットに目を向けはじめています。
チベット問題は中国の内政問題ではなく、文明と人の尊厳を脅かす世界共通の問題です。世界がチベットを応援しはじめた2008年、京都と大阪で、多くの皆様にまずチベットを知っていただくために「チベットを知ろう2008」を開催いたしました。
お暑い中、お越しいただき誠にありがとうございました。あまりの反響に主催者としては驚きを隠せません。休日の間お越しいただいた皆様には、大変窮屈な思いをさせてしまいました。申し訳ございません。立ち見の皆様、そして満席で立ち見ですらご入場いただけず、ご入場をお断りした皆様に、心よりお詫び申し上げます。もし、次回にお会いできる機会がありましたら、必ず「あの時入場できなかった」とお声をかけてください。改めてお詫びを申し上げたく思っています。次回は絶対にすべてのご来場者にお座りいただける環境を確保したいと思っております。こんなにも大勢の方にお越しいただき、スタッフ一同感激しています。今後も世界平和とチベットの自由を、この日本から発信し、行動してまいります。ありがとうございました。
このイベントの開催理由について・・・私の稚拙な言葉でチベットを認識していただくより、まずHIROSHIMA INTERNATIONAL PEACE COUNCIL広島国際平和会議のサイトに掲載されている広島国際平和会議2006共同宣言をお読みください。ダライ・ラマ法王たちの言葉があります。
私のこのたびの上映活動のモチベーションともいうべきものを支えているのは、これらの言葉であり、この共同宣言はそのまま私の信念に通じます。
About Tibet チベットについて
Tibet is a plateau region in the Central Asia with an average altitude
of 4500 meters above sea level. In 1959, at least 100,000 Tibetans killed
and another 100,000 flee into exile in India with Dalai Lama. Mao Zedong
proclaimed the People's Republic of China since1949, Tibet has been occupied
by the China over 40 years with a great hardship. In four decades, about
1,200,000 Tibetans killed and another 150,000 Tibetans were forced into
exile. Although Tibetans are struggling for freedom, many of them are keeping
the Dalai Lama’s non-violent attitude.
ヒマラヤ山脈の北側に広がる、平均海抜4,500mのチベット高原。そのほとんどを占める独立国「チベット」。しかし今、チベットという国はない。1949年、毛沢東の「チベット解放」の宣言とともに、チベットは中国に組み入れられた。圧倒な国力のもと中国政府によるチベット人の虐殺と弾圧の歴史がはじまった。以来600万人しかいないチベット人のうち120万人が殺され、15万人のチベット人がインドやネパールに亡命している。しかし、ほとんどのチベット人たちはダライ・ラマ法王の教えを守り、非暴力を貫いている。
